Who We Are
Mission: To celebrate the art of filmmaking, highlighting emerging and established filmmakers from around the world.
The Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF), is a 3-day nonprofit film festival held annually in Jersey City dedicated to showcasing independent films from around the world. It is an event that aims to highlight the work of both established and emerging artists and filmmakers.
What We Do
The festival features various categories, including narrative features, short films, documentaries, music videos, and films that raise awareness about important social issues. It also provides a platform for local filmmakers and students to present their work.
Inspired by the poem “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus, the festival celebrates diversity and artistic expression, embodying the welcoming spirit symbolized by the Statue of Liberty. Additionally, it offers prestigious awards in several categories, including the James Gandolfini Award for emerging filmmakers and the Alice Guy Blaché Award for Women in Cinema.
This year's festival takes place in Jersey City June 26-28, 2025.
