Who We Are
The Harsimus Cemetery is an all volunteer mission, people who dedicate their time and skills to help support this historic site.
Mission: To protect and preserve, with honor, our ancestors and veterans in memoriam, while promoting the early American history that took place on these sacred grounds.
What We Do
Our Goals are:

To restore, and perpetually preserve and maintain the historic cemetery grounds, caretaker house, and historic monuments.

To achieve State and National Historic Landmark Preservation Status.

To develop a historical Memorial Park, Museum, and Visitor Center.

To provide a hands-on American history learning experience through educational lectures, films, tours, and events.

To promote cultural awareness of Jersey City’s heritage and major role in important American History.

To increase public knowledge and appreciation of the Cemetery’s natural beauty and historical significance.
